If your business was previously registered under Udyog Aadhaar (UAM) or the old MSME registration system, you may need to migrate or renew your existing registration to the current Udyam Registration system. The Government of India launched Udyam on July 1, 2020. The process is completed online easily and hassle-free through the official Udyam Registration portal.

Step-by-Step Udyam Re-Registration Process

1
Visit the official Udyam Registration website: https://udyamregistration.gov.in/
2
Click the “UAM Migration to Udyam” option. This option will be seen on the home page. This button is only for existing users.
3

First, you need to verify your existing Udyog Aadhaar registration Verification

  • Enter your 12-digit UAM number
  • Choose the OTP option: Mobile number or Email ID (as per UAM)
  • Click the “Validate & Generate OTP” option.
4
An OTP will be sent to the mobile number or email ID selected in the previous step. Enter the OTP and click on the “Validate OTP” button. If the OTP is correct, your old Udyog Aadhaar details are verified, and you can proceed to the next migration process.
5

After successful OTP verification, the portal will ask whether you want to migrate your existing registration to the Udyam Registration system. Choose the “Yes” option and continue. Next, click on the “Migrate” button to start the Udyam registration process.

Next, provide the official address of your business. Enter the required address information, such as the state, district, PIN code, and other applicable details.
